Collection: Another Sunny Day
The second piece that is a part of my exclusive “Mom Collection” - both of these designs were created by Rosalind McLean out of her home office.
This one features a limited colour palette with the blues, but actually hosts a wide variety of yellows, greens and blues in almost every hue imaginable.
I love the way that she got them to pour down the canvas in a cascade of creative colour play that ties together nicely by featuring the white streaks to shine through in a big way.
I have frequently tried to re-create this style of painting for my own selfish reasons, but have never found myself as successful as this piece that inspired it.
My mother has the unique artistic instinct of knowing the perfect moment to stop, which is something that I have continually been trying to emulate since I first began my own artistic journey. She’s wonderfully good at combining mediums into something unique and striking which I think is a beautiful thing - especially when you see the unique pieces like this that she effortlessly creates.
There is something about this painting that reminds me of the fact that it doesn’t matter how wet or crazy a time that the storm is- the weather always breaks into something new, calming and comforting.
Also- yes- this is named after another Abandoned Pools song.
