Alas the light has been quenched The boarding vessel shattered Those who were are drenched And nothing really mattered
A lighthouse has a purpose. Maybe not so much anymore, but ships would use the light to navigate their way through the seas to ensure that they didn’t crash upon rocks that would tear their ships to shreds.
There is something very honourable and noble about a lighthouse. There is something in it that is truly and completely selfless about it- but also necessary.
Often people can be these kinds of paragons to humanity, by being so brilliant and so integrous that their virtue shines far and wide.
Now, I will never proclaim to be that kind of person, but I think there’s a certain kind of honourable excitement about coming closer to that person that I know I can be.
